From the classroom to action!
Many of the BIG4LIFE actions encourage the active participation of young students. One example is the green roof redesign tasks at the H3 building of Parc Agrobiotech in Lleida which we recently started working on with students from the Technical Architectural program at the University of Lleida.
In March 2025, we planted aromatic herbs, identified Sedum species, and held a discussion on construction planning. In April, a group of students visited a vertical garden by Verdtical in Hotel Sofitel in Barcelona. We discussed about urban greenery as an active part of urban regeneration.
These activities are part of a cross-disciplinary course in the student’s academic program, which will run until mid-May 2025.
Connecting future architects with the BIG4LIFE project is key to driving the transition of the construction sector towards a more sustainable circular, energy-efficient, and climate-resilient model.
